Turkey Trot 2012

I ran this year's 5K on Thanksgiving. Well, by ran I mean I walked, jogged, trotted, and almost crawled for 3.2 miles. I did it though and I beat mostly all the walkers and all the really fat people. They posted the official times this week. Technically, I came in next to last. But that's just the benchmark. Next year my record will be much better.

It was a great day for a race too. The weather was just right; not too cold or too warm and the sun was bright. I wished I had taken photos. We ran right along the banks of the Cuyahoga River and with the multi-colored foliage and crisp air, the sights were picturesque. I'm not a bird watcher, but I will admit it was mildly interesting to see bluebirds and cardinals and a bunch of other birds around the riverbed. There were lots of families and groups of people running together. I should have expected it, but it caught me off guard. I think it's a great idea as a family tradition to do on Thanksgiving. I would love to do that with my family.

What's for dinner?

Testing out my camera...doesn't this look yummy?! Sauteed chicken breast and a crunchy green salad.

Beckie is on fire.

So today is Day 1 of the Inferno Plan from TurboFire. I've already messed it up. After studying (cuz I'm a nerd) all this material they give you, I did the wrong exercise routine. I was supposed to do Fire 55 but I did Fire 30. Plus, I forgot to eat before I left home to get to work. Sounds odd considering my 26" thighs are as thick as a woman's waist. They didn't get that size by me being forgetful about food. During Inferno, you are to consume 1200 calories a day. It's now 9:39 AM and I've had 690 calories already. I've always resisted using food journals because I think it's such a waste of time and won't make a difference. Well, considering my stats below, I'm open to try anything to get this fat suit offa me. I am on track with water; I've already had 2 8oz. glasses plus a cup of Earl Grey tea (no sugar or milk). I think if I take Rockey for a nice long stroll this evening I'll be ok for Day 1.

I was able to stay about 75% up with the video. I thought the trainer would be Denise-Richards-annoying but she's way better. Chalene definitely does a good job of keeping your energy level up without bursting your eardrums or pissing you off.  While I am a bit uncoordinated, I don't think I did too bad following the steps. Workout music generally sucks chunks in my opinion, but the tracks I heard were motivating. I have to take my photos this evening, which I'll add later. Here are my stats:

My "Before" Stats (10/10/2011)
Chest       43
R. Arm    14 1/2
L. Arm    15 1/2 (I'm a leftie!)

Waist       40
Hips        46
R. Thigh  26
L. Thigh  26

Total inches  211
Weight          207 lbs.

Bye Mom.
